The Case of the Mysterious Moved Patio Furniture - Sonoma, CA

A Sonoma, CA, USA resident returned home to find her patio furniture moved from one side of the patio to the other.

Below is a transcript of the correspondence, including the recommended action from My Town is Magical.

Message: I was gone for a few hours. Upon returning, my furniture was all crowded on the side walkway instead of in its normal place! What causes this?

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is - you have a beautiful backyard and a pool and some very comfortable looking furniture! How grand!

The bad news - you’ve got Gremlins. Plural.
One gremlin would maybe move your keys or hide your socks - small things.
To pull a big job like moving large outdoor furniture would take at least 4 Gremlins. Maybe 5.

The appropriate term for multiple (groups of) Gremlins is a Havoc. You have a havoc of Gremlins at your home.

Let’s hope they stay on the lighter side of things with moved furniture.

Things to watch for:

Missing trinkets.
Missing socks (single only)
Missing shoes (again, only one)
Belts being shrunk
Sugar replaced with salt
Keys missing
Noises at all hours
Cookies / treats / goodies disappearing

If the above occur (have occurred/are occurring) it’s your Gremlins. Most likely.
That’s if you’re lucky and they are Gremlins of the goodly sort.

If things take a turn for the worse, let us know.
As of yet, we have no known way to get rid of Gremlins.
So - try anything and everything.
You might want to hire a local sorceress/enchanter/wizard/alchemist to come over and check things out.
You might want to offer a sign of peace by leaving out a small tray of sweets for them (they love sweets).
